Cara Aeschliman (care-uh ash-luh-min) is a triple threat — with expertise in makeup, hair, and wardrobe, as well as extensive experience in both print and video. Her work has taken her to some incredible locations, from the tropical forests of Costa Rica and secluded beaches of Nicaragua to the North Shore of Oʻahu and glaciers of Alaska. Clients appreciate Cara’s fun, laid-back personality and calm presence on set, and call her time and time again to make their talent look and feel their best.

Cara splits her time between Seattle and Palm Springs, where she lives with her handsome husband, Peter, and their two darling dogs, Gus and Gary. She loves cookbooks, camping, spending time on the water, and hanging out with family and friends.

Before entering the creative world, Cara took a very different path. She majored in biology and minored in chemistry in college, then spent six years working in the medical field. She quickly realized that “life is too short to be doing something you don’t love,” so in 2009 she left her desk job to pursue her dream of becoming a makeup artist.

While building her freelance career, Cara worked for MAC Cosmetics and studied hair styling at the Make-Up Designory in Los Angeles. In 2012, she became a member of the Pacific Northwest film union, IATSE Local 488.

More than 15 years later, Cara still loves what she does and feels incredibly lucky to have built a career that combines creativity, travel, and working with talented people. And yes — she’s had absolutely no regrets about leaving that desk job.
